Merry (belated) Christmas everyone! I hope you had a great one and that Santa was very good to you. Even though I cried at Santa, he was still nice enough to come and find me in my new house in Houston. Mommy left him a key on the Christmas tree for him on the tree - this was essential since we don't have a fireplace. When I woke up Christmas morning, there were a ton of presents under the tree. I had lots of practice unwrapping gifts during my birthday, so I had fun tearing off the wrapping paper - one piece at a time. I got lots of cool toys, but the best was a Sesame Street remote control. I started hugging it and hugging it - Daddy said that I can now leave his remote alone.
Grandma and Grampa sent me a dancing tower and Aunt Kara got me a red haired Barbie. My Pittsburgh Grammy sent me a really warm and fuzzy blanket (thanks Grammy!) and Aunt Therese sent along some good books.
For Christmas eve dinner, Mommy made a traditional Slovak dinner. That was so yummy, I had a potato pierogi in one hand and a handful of baboulki (bread "balls" and poppyseed) in the other. Mommy makes good pierogis!

Mommy and Daddy have been looking for new houses too. Last weekend, we went out and saw so many new houses. They said our Pittsburgh house is still for sale, but I had fun going through the houses. Mommy said I'll get to pick my own room!

Last week, Mommy surprised me with the camera while I was in the bathtub. Me, the big ham, couldn't help but smile for the camera!

Have a very Happy New Year! I love you and miss you lots!

Then we went shopping at Neimen Marcus and I felt much better after that...

So, I'm finally back home after my wild weekend in Washington DC. Mommy took me on a big airplane ride last Thursday afternoon, after I went to the doctor. I hadn't been feeling well and Miss Kathy told Daddy that I had been coughing a lot and tugging at my ears. Mommy got back from Los Angeles and took me to the doctor. The doctor - a really nice lady with a squeaker toy on that thing around her neck that listens to my chest - said that I had ear inflammation, but not an infection. She was also concerned about my cough, but thought that it might go away on its own. The doctor wanted to see how I "progressed" over the weekend - not sure what that meant, but mommy said I would be OK for a day or two without medicine since I wasn't really sick yet. So, we headed to the airport and took a plane to Charlotte. Mommy said we had to rush when we got off the airplane and she pushed the stroller really fast to get to the next airplane - I thought it was fun! The flight attendant was nice, but shut the door as soon as we got on the plane. She seemed like she was in a rush too! So, then we got into Washington and a nice man (mommy said he flew the plane) helped us off the plane since it was raining really hard and we had to walk outside to get our luggage. Mommy said we were going to get a new car, which is always fun. I got into my car seat and fell asleep! Mommy said too that we were going to have a sleepover at this place with a new crib, somewhere called the Marriott. Soon after we got there, a nice man brought me some milk and mommy some dinner (she said she was starving after having to run that race in Charlotte!).

On Friday, I got up with Mommy and went to a new babysitter in DC - Miss Barb. She was very nice - she kept changing my diapers (6 in one day!) and I gave her one of my bottles as a souvenir. I had fun, then went to dinner with Miss Kendra and Mr. Fred (Mommy works with Miss Kendra). Miss Kendra gave me a green Popsicle, boy was that yummy! I wasn't feeling very well, so Mr. Fred was nice enough to go out and get me some medicine. I was starting to feel a little better, but really wanted to sleep so mommy took me back to the Marriott for another sleepover. Again, the nice man brought me some warm milk to drink.

Saturday was a lot of fun. A nice lady brought me milk in the morning and mommy some french toast. There were bananas and strawberries on the plate, so mommy let me eat some of her bananas and I had some french toast too (yummy!). We picked up daddy at the airport - I was so happy, I spotted him before mommy did! We then went to the mall to see this guy. Mommy said his name is "Santa". At first I was really excited, I had to wait my turn to see him. He had a mustache just like grandpa's, but Santa's mustache must have been made of snow because it was white. He called my name - somehow he knew my name! - and mommy took me over. I sat on his lap and, well, I didn't know what to think of this guy! Even though mommy was right there, I was very scared of this "Santa" guy (if that *is* his real name!). Mommy rescued me, then we went shopping at Neimen Marcus and I felt much better after that.

A little while later, we stopped at the pharmacy to pick up some medicine for me. Mommy said that I had "progressed" and now had a fever. We finally got the medicine, then had to rush back to the Marriott where mommy and daddy got all dressed up, then took me to go play with Ashley, Arielle, and Kayla (another new babysitter and the kids of mommy's boss). They picked me up a couple hours later and we had yet another sleepover at the Marriott. I really wasn't feeling good and ended up sleeping between mommy and daddy all night. I was really thirsty and mommy said it was too late for the nice man to bring me milk so I had some water. I was really happy when the nice lady brought me my milk in the morning.

After I got my milk this morning, I went to go meet Aunt Gretchen and Uncle Ken. They were so nice. They promised to let me play with their two kitties, but the kitties must have been happy playing without me. Uncle Ken made lots of goofy faces at me - I still wasn't feeling well, so I didn't laugh a lot, but I did take a nap on mommy's lap.

Finally, we were back to the airport to fly back home to Houston. We took a 767-300 to Chicago, then connected on a really long flight to Houston. I slept most of the way and will go back to bed after I finish my blog tonight.

Mommy kissed me goodbye - she stayed at the airport to take another airplane to San Antonio, but she says she'll see me on Friday. Daddy said that Malley is still at camp, but should be home tomorrow.

I love you and miss you all!

Chocolate Chip Paradise Pier

I had a great day yesterday, I finally got to meet my Great-Uncle Terry. Such a nice guy, he took me and mommy and daddy out for dinner. He taught me about this wonderful thing called an expense account and paid for dinner (thanks!). Mommy still made me eat my turkey dinner from the jar, but she let me have a few bites of her veggies and beans. But then, Uncle T insisted that we get dessert and the nice lady brought me a Chocolate Chip Paradise Pier (we start with a warm, chewy bar layered with chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. Topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with hot fudge and caramel). Just when I thought I was full from dinner, I made a nice diaper for mommy to change - then I had room for dessert! The ice cream on top was my favorite!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my first birthday - how exciting! Things have been very busy for me the last few weeks since my first blog. Mommy and daddy had an early birthday party for me in Cleveland. I got to see all the family before we moved to Houston. They said I needed to be in the car for a couple days, it was a really long trip but it was fun. Daddy listened to lots of Christmas music and mommy listened to alot of different types of music (she sang a lot too!). I was so tired when I got down here that I slept wherever they put me. After a couple days, I realized that everything was new and different - that was a little scary. I am doing better now that I've been here for over a week. I also have a new babysitter and her name is Miss Kathy. There are several other babies there around my age, including a little boy who is a couple weeks younger than me. It is lots of fun, I get to play with kids my own age! Mommy and daddy got a big tree for the house and I helped Daddy put the star on the tree. The house is all ready for Christmas! Yesterday, we went out to eat for lunch. Mommy fed me hummus and pita bread, it was really yummy. I also had guacamole the other night too. I really like that green stuff!!! Mommy says I have a big week this week, we are heading to Washington DC on Thursday for the weekend. I'll tell you more about it next week!

Love and kisses!
